Life is an Instant

I know it took me a while to post something again. But the last days on the road, internet service was awful...and tiredness accumulated. We arrived in the hotel in Kanab a little late, but we had an awesome dinner. We didn't wake up that early the next day. We stopped to have breakfast and headed to Zion. In the way we ran into a State Park of Coral Sand Dunes and decided to stop there. They were really nice and we had fun taking pictures there. Then we went to Zion. Now I can say that my favorite drive of all was the one in Zion National Park. I don't think I can describe it. It is also a canyon, but this canyon you drive all the way down and look up, not like the Grand Canyon that you look down. It was really hot, but a gorgeous day. We really didn't get to explore much...most of the parks that we visited are worth staying at least one night, but this trip wasn't planned like that. Nevertheless, we got a glance of it and the certainty that we are going back. Then we drove to Las Vegas. I have to confess that the last couple of days of the trip were poorly planned...and we arrived in Las Vegas a little too late and too hungry. It was my mom's first time there. So I did every effort to walk around and show her what Vegas is about. It was really crowded...but fun. I had decided to have a very nice dinner there, so we had dinner at Mon Amie Gabi at the Paris hotel, right in front of the Bellagio, and watched the fountain show the entire dinner. We had a delicious dinner with wine. Then we played in the machines for a little while, but I was exhausted, so I went to bed while my mom stayed planning a little while. The next morning we took it really slowly and ended up leaving Vegas until 1pm...a little too late because I wanted to arrive in Monterey that day/night. For some reason (that I now think know what it was) I was in a rush to get to Monterey on Friday night. We had the most beautiful sunset on the way and drove on the wonderful scenic road at night...so we didn't see anything...We arrived in the hotel after eleven pm, really tired. Saturday morning I started looking for a place to rent. Made calls, sent out emails...went to see a couple of places. The first place I saw was it. I knew it all the time, but I still tried other options. I am convinced that my dad is really looking out for me. I ended up coming back to the first place I saw to give the deposit and the rent. It is a studio in Pacific Grove, with its own entrance, furnished, where I can have visitors. It is ideal for me to focus on my studies/work, close to university, with plenty of space, kitchen, and everything I need. I couldn't believe that I found it that quickly...but it wasn't going to be there much longer. So I guess that is the reason why I wanted to get here already. The owner is super nice, Russian, and he fixes orchestra instruments, really interesting. Today we went to university to get my student ID and parking permit. Tomorrow and Wednesday we are just going to relax and enjoy the area, because my mom goes back on Thursday. I am going to miss her like crazy. I am really blessed for having such wonderful parents, who support me and believe in me the way they do. It is thanks to them that I am who I am, I am where I am, and I am able to make my dreams come true. It doesn't seem that we were on the road for 10 days...that we saw all those wonders. Life is only an instant and you have to make the most out of every instant always, because that is the whole point of it!
